My photos are mostly of the Western landscape. I try to document the "wide open spaces," and, of course, my photos make things look more attractive than they really are. I generally avoid uploading photos of the classic places because Google Earth will not benefit from more photos of them. Contact me at rmaughan2 AT cableone Dot net

Ralph Maughan's conversations

Great capture Ralph, seeing a storm cross the valley is always a unique scene. I talked to someone in Idaho Falls this AM and the reiterated that you had a lot of moisture last month. Best wishes, Greg.

Good to hear from you again River.

Thanks for the like Petr.

Tom Cooper,

I will certainly take that as a compliment. There are two Western states that I am not at all familiar with -- Colorado and New Mexico.

Tom Cooper,

Ha! I looks like it, but no. I stood on the wet gravel next to the edge of the flowing water, and set the camera to macro and about F:29. I tried to hold the camera horizontally about 3 inches above the water. After about 3 tries I got what I wanted.

Pretty nice view, and good shot! LIKE

Yes. They did a very good job of logging. Many big trees were left. The logging trail was firmly closed to motor vehicles. There was a small clearcut too, but OK given the variety of cutting methods used.

Thanks J.c, it is a beautiful area, we had some great weather too. I appreciate the visit, Greg.

This is great and not unusual. I have seen it other places, but there are too few of them.
