My photos are mostly of the Western landscape. I try to document the "wide open spaces," and, of course, my photos make things look more attractive than they really are. I generally avoid uploading photos of the classic places because Google Earth will not benefit from more photos of them. Contact me at rmaughan2 AT cableone Dot net

Last I checked aspen only had zanthophylls and not carotinophylls. I studied in forestry, but in the east -- so I could be wrong.

These were not Populus tremuloides or deltoides or grandidentata. Certainly not alba or nigra or balsamifera. Possibly fremontii?? My take was that they were young Betula papyrifera.

But if you have insights into the particular genus and species that an eastern forester might lack I would welcome hearing it.

Gracias Ernesto ! Saludos --Pierre

Happy Holidays to you Greg.

Yes we did many miles backpacking and hiking, and some the of photos come from that.

I hope to see many more of your fine photos in 2015 on Panoramio or whatever venue might follow it.

Very beautiful landscape !!!LK

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Ralph !!

I like this photo of these impressive mountains. It has proper exposure, unlike some others.

I had never heard of this giant crater until I just spoted it on the map. Thank you for the panoramic photograph, small though the photo is.

Thank you, Pennington. The ability for bacteria to live in or next to boiling water is amazing to me.

I like this fine reflection.
