My photos are mostly of the Western landscape. I try to document the "wide open spaces," and, of course, my photos make things look more attractive than they really are. I generally avoid uploading photos of the classic places because Google Earth will not benefit from more photos of them. Contact me at rmaughan2 AT cableone Dot net

Merci au '1000'ème !!

Greg,

It was a beautiful place, and the blue of the lake is not due to my hand on the saturation bar.

I backpacked in from Snowshoe Summit, but that was 13 years ago, hence the photo is a scan of a slide. Now I would think that the bark beetles will have killed most of the lodgepole pine.

This is one reason I have been putting up some older photos in these remote areas -- to chronicle the vast changes that have taken place in central Idaho.

Bruce,

Thank you for examining my photos and making comments throughout the year. I wish the best for you too next year.

Very interesting !! good shot !!LK

Greg and Pierre,

I have found some interesting photography between the recent early winter storms that have passed through.

Pierre,

The Portneuf River was given its name sometime before 1821 by French Canadian voyageurs working for the Montreal-based fur trading North West Company.

Thank you!

Beautiful valley !!!!!LK
