Originally Copp's Store; built by Carroll Copp in 1960 after the original building was burned to the ground.

Northeat. The shadows are cast right to left.

You may want to recheck your directions. Look at your shadows, they are being cast across your picture. This is facing almost directly south.

This is actually looking west/northwest. Cooper Hall is to the left. The sun is low in the southern sky.

yes this is the fastest way to LAC in my opinion. Gem Pool is very green. If you stand facing waterfall and look at 3 o'clock you will see some shallow caves on the hillside.

Hello - I organized a conference last year on American Deserts and am in the process of publishing the results of several workshop sessions on hot deserts. I am in need of some good photos on the Mojave Desert and wondered if it might be possible to get permission to use this photo?

I can be reached at lcmarkle@blm.gov, 303-986-3309

Thankyou.

This is actually a picture of a fir-wave, a forest in natural regeneration. The mature trees die of natural causes when the high concentration of saplings come to dominate the older tree's sources of nourishment. Fir waves are a common sight in the White Mountains including the upper slopes of Mt Garfield.

Was this from Pulpit Rock?
