I don't believe it was (I don't think Michener ever lived on Santo other than in an army hut?), but five years ago Heritage Tours I think promoted it as such, and every now and again their little bus would drive in unannounced, the tourists would jump out and take photos, and then it would drive off again!
Would have to be the best place in Vanuatu to wind down an relax with the best chef serving the second in the world quality, (Santo Beef) steak, including top seafood. Anne is your host and welcomes you with open arms to the most relaxed place on earth.
