Don't know if it's Google Earth commenting that Southend Pier is "The Longest Pier in the World" or if it's the photographer,but it is NOT the longest pier in the world - that belongs the USA (surprise). Southend Pier is the longest PLEASURE pier in the world!

The two most common quotes which happen when the Layout appears at exhibitions are: 1) "That's Hertford East isn't it?" or 2) "Happisburgh didn't have a station." Both of which are correct. There had been a proposal for a railway to Happisburgh but that's as far as it got, the station building is a scale model of Hertford East.
