Dear Atlas11 Thank you a lot. Ancient town of Akarnania west of Acheloos outfall, at a fortified location. It is mentioned by Thucydides that during the fight between Athenians and Peloponnesians, Eneades were allies with the Corinthians that is why they were besieged by Pericles, but with no success. General Formion forced them to unite with the Athenian alliance in 428b.C., in 331b.C. it was taken by Etolians and freed in 313b.C. by Kassandros. With the Roman invasion the town was once again surrendered to the Acarnanians. Today there are remains of the town located at Trikardokastro. During the summer there is a festival that takes place, with many concerts and theatrical plays.
