Such is life, I also have some of these country grave sides in my collection Heather, and wonder what life was like in their days in these vast open spaces. How people carved out a living and had none of the implements, mod cons and means of transport we have now a century and a half down the track? But...what did they have we have not? This lonely epitaph in sacred memory of a loved one, by younger generations also long since departed, stands there for as long as the elements will allow, but with one timeless message (on previous picture) "In the midst of life we are in death" "Prepare ye therefore to meet your Creator" Greetings, Jim.
Well, it wasn't all that hair raising really. Although I've done and still do a bit of kayaking, this particular picture, I have to admit, was a bit of digital manipulation; editing with Panoramio Paint programme. Cheers, Jim.
