I watched as sediment was 'cut' from the bank seen in this photo, with sections of it falling into the flow only to be mobilized into the stream flow and transported downstream through the sluice gates. The turbidity effect of this was observed throughout the remaining length of the stream, extending to Lake Hartwell.

Shows the workers responsible for opening the sluice gate and draining the lake. The spillway is no longer spilling the river flow. The river flow can be observed passing through the sluice gate at the base of the far end of the dam.

Yes, it was very wet that day, a lot of water coming down the river. It took a little longer than usual to make the trip up to the waterfall. The river was deeper than I normally see it and warmer too. But all in all, it was a great day. Every day in Dominica is a great day.
