This is the fascinating railway viaduct in Loughor. The original was built entirely in timber and was engineered by Brunel. It is a grade two listed structure and stands in stark contrast alongside the modern road bridge.
I took this photo 10am new years day. The tide was starting to come in and there were plenty of anglers and dog walkers about despite the morning after the night before celebrations.
The area around the Caerfanell valley was the highlight of my walk with the Pontarddulais walking club and although it rained on the walk it was still an enjoyable one.

This dead tree in Singleton park was covered in several interesting varieties of fungus species.....( Well interesting to anoraks anyway).
