I grew up a few blocks away from the grain elevator in Troy in the 60s and 70s. Saw lighting strike it one summer day. Glad it's still standing. Great shot. Used to be a railroad siding to the property.

The odd thing about this photo is that it was taken originally with a polaroid camera with b&w film (the only thing I had at the time) and that is why it is so smeary. I was an Air Defense Radar Repairman stationed at Scott AFB, and Marine was one of our batteries. Normally I would have been there to repair the radar set, but the Army had determined that Nike Hercules air defense was obsolete against the cold war threat from long range bombers. We were there that day to dismantle the ABAR radar which is the tallest of the towers in the picture and had a great vantage point to see all that was occurring. I will post some more photos of the event. Thanks for all of the comments.

Very cool, I forgot about the round barn. Used to pass it all the time on the way to go swimming at the rockslides.
