I was statoned there (A Battery, 1st Missile Battalion, 62nd Artillery) from October '65 thru July '68. This was the Nike Hercules Launch area. We called these underground magazines "pits" (Silo is more of an ICBM term). Rather than "squad" each was manned by a "section" of about 10 men.
A few miles south, where Marine's sewage treatment plant is now, were the Admin offices, barracks and Fire Control radars. I have some photos of that area somewhere on Panoramo, but apparently the link to the Google Earth map has been broken.
