I lived in this area as a child ('63-'69). We lived off base about 1/8 mile NNE.

My father was station at Fuchu AFB. I went to Chofu Elementary school. I still remember when the copper filled quarters arrived.

For me, also, those are some of my fondest childhood memories. Seeing Mt. Fuji in the distance against a deep blue sky backdrop. Inspiring.

Haha! Wonderful. I was up on this second floor of the public housing building, too. It was a great spot. The buildings are completely covered in green now. Like something out of a dystopian scifi flick.
