It probably is, its a bit higher than the ridge opposite, best launch area is actually to the South where the ground is a bit clearer and not so steep as the E side. Ideal today, but not much good for the winter westerlies. Which place did you move into?

Thanks, I was out on a mountain bike ride to check out the remains of the snow (you can see a tiny bit near the base of the communications tower) and decided to ride up there to make the pano. I ended up walking most of the steep bit due to the ice and mud ;). Its just a matter of climbing over the gate on the track, the tower wasn't locked off inside its fence. Many years ago the tower was always open and there was even a pair of binoculars there, but I assume someone stole them. On high fire danger days the tower is often staffed, I've seen people up there at the lookout on previous rides.

Hi Bill, just go to Nowendoc NP and drive along Myall Management Trail and then Callaghans Rocks Management Trail, I think there is a locked gate down that one somewhere though, not a problem if you are on foot. Then just follow Callaghans Canyon Management Trail down, it is very steep in places, and a scramble down into the creek. Watch out for Tiger Snakes down there, there was one living not far from the creek junction, and there is no quick escape if you get bitten!

Thanks Marilyn, its a lovely spot with the waterfall coming through the roof of a cave, but very difficult lighting conditions.
