Thanks. The road was just by chance. I was the first one on the loop through the campground after the snow had fallen overnight.
Me too, and Thank You. I was fortunate that this weekend the moon set relatively early while the major arm was still above the horizon. It also helped that my tent was only 100 feet away. Check out Stellarium.org for a nice simulator of when/where the Milky Way will be visible.

Thanks Art! Believe it or not this was from inside my truck during a brief pause in a deluge of rain. Lightning was way too close for me to take my chances on the trail this day.
Good prickly pear skeletons are surprisingly hard to find, considering how many prickly pears there are out there.
