►Anjar has very rich Biomass. In ecology, it is the mass of living biological organisms in a given area or ecosystem at a given time. Biomass can refer to species biomass, which is the mass of one or more species, or to community biomass, which is the mass of all species in the community. It can include microorganisms, plants or animals. The mass can be expressed as the average mass per unit area, or as the total mass in the community.
Generally, Ain Anjar is considered as a small natural reserve that lies on the western slope of the arid Eastern Lebanese Mountain Chain. It contains a small forest which is enclosed by a protective fence. Diverse sherbs and herbs are located along the fracture spring. The topography of the spring of the area is antropic (modified by humans). The spring area is widened and enclosed with cement forming a directed pathway for the spring water towards the Chamsine river.

►Anjar Geography: Altitude: 950 meters above sea level. Area: 15.5 square kilometers. 58 kilometers from Beirut, Anjar is located in the Bekaa Valley. Today’s name, Anjar, comes from the Arabic Ain el- Jarra or "water from the rock" the name of an ancient city founded in this area during Hellenistic times.
The winded cement area has been done to decrease the water velocity which in turn will lead to an increase in the amount and diversity of species by supplying a steady flow and higher amount of spring water. It is notable to say that the area around the spring is being utilized as a fish farming facility but sadly this year the program was shut down due to lack of government funding.
