I was either bitten by the travel bug or born with a vagabond heart. Maybe both. Maybe instead of heartworm, it is the travel bug which has burrowed its way into my heart. Whatever it is I cannot be cured of it. I am never truely happy unless I am in the air, on the road or on a trail. When I am not on the road, I am off someplace else in my head.
Henry Lawson wrote " I am at ease and at home on a track that I know not and restless and lost on a road that I know."
That pretty much describes me. I have traveled all over the majority of the US, toured the canadian rockies of Alberta and British Columbia, been to Mexico on twelve different occasions, been to Belize twice, Guatemala 4x's, Costa Rica, Nicaragua twice, Honduras, Peru 3x's, Ecuador, Bolivia, Switzerland and Israel.
All of the above are very beautiful countries filled with fascinating and wonderful people! Israel, Peru, Guatemala and Mexico outshine them all though, in my own humble opinion. Belize is beautiful too, and I'd choose Colorado for the most beautiful US state.
