I was either bitten by the travel bug or born with a vagabond heart. Maybe both. Maybe instead of heartworm, it is the travel bug which has burrowed its way into my heart. Whatever it is I cannot be cured of it. I am never truely happy unless I am in the air, on the road or on a trail. When I am not on the road, I am off someplace else in my head. Henry Lawson wrote " I am at ease and at home on a track that I know not and restless and lost on a road that I know." That pretty much describes me. I have traveled all over the majority of the US, toured the canadian rockies of Alberta and British Columbia, been to Mexico on twelve different occasions, been to Belize twice, Guatemala 4x's, Costa Rica, Nicaragua twice, Honduras, Peru 3x's, Ecuador, Bolivia, Switzerland and Israel. All of the above are very beautiful countries filled with fascinating and wonderful people! Israel, Peru, Guatemala and Mexico outshine them all though, in my own humble opinion. Belize is beautiful too, and I'd choose Colorado for the most beautiful US state.

Hi Janices! Ese lugar es Pariacaca?

We took the left. Yes, you do have to use wire cables to boost yourself up. I hiked to the foot of the mountain solo, and gave up when I saw the steel cables, turned around and was on my way back down the trail when I ran into two Israelis who convinced me to go back with them. They helped me up the cables and over the rock wall.

While we were up at the lake, a guy from England who was traveling alone, came up the trail on the right, up by the waterfalls. He said it was easy.

I would recommend doing it with a couple of other people. Going back down was easier than climbing up.

Enjoy Peru! It was AMAZING!

Absolutely beautiful. ♥LIKE♥! Best regards, Arno
