Good shot! Voted
Greetings from Russia!
It's not a great photo, but it is a manatee, and it was about 10 feet away from me. One doesn't often find themself in a situation such as this with a camera in hand, but when one does, you'll take what the opportunity presents.
We paddled Trail #8 in late April this year. It was a great trip. The Orange Trail west of Canal Run Shelter was very tight. The narrow trail along with the over growth and tight turns made for some slow going. There are many hidden logs and stumps along the way that will be a problem in low water levels. Late winter or early spring would be a good time to make the trip. I enjoyed this part of the trip, but my friends in the canoes may have a different opinion.
I'll post some photos soon.
This photo was taken on Brier Creek, in Screven County, GA, bordering the Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area. The coordinates listed are approximate.
