i lived just across the road from the lockup during the war and remember playing with the doctors son on what was an old horse drawn fire engine kept in there. i think i was one of the last evacuees to leave Tuxford i would like to see what it is like now, happy days for me. Bob Saynor

Emily Murphy one of the "Famous Five". Emily Murphy (March 14, 1868 - October 17, 1933) was a Canadian women's rights activist, jurist and author. In 1916, she became the first woman magistrate in Canada, and in the British Empire. She is best known for her feminism, specifically to the question of whether women were "persons" under Canadian law.

Once the envy of most of the UKs sea side resorts this once beautiful park was left to decay however thanks to some very good people it is now coming back to life.
