Wasn't that called The Crown back in 1943? I may be wrong its a long time ago.
This was the first place I stayed in when I was evacuated to the town from London. The room I was in was on the top floor the window just to the left of the road lamp at the top.
I was then moved to 18 St Marys Street and my mother and I stayed with an old lady.
I spent two happy years in Wallingford at school and swimming in the Thames and I have fond memories of the place. One day I shall go back for a visit.
