The animal shown is an adult female Nubian ibex (Ibex nubiana, scientifically), a species on which I did substantial research in the Negev highlands near Sde Boker, as a wildlife ecologist with Ben-Gurion University's Blaustein Institute for Desert Research. It is a species of wild goat, but a so-called "Negev goat " is a misnomer, does not exist as species name. The Nubian ibex is a wonderful creature, and deserves to called by it's proper name. Thanks.
