Scubyw enjoys the clothing optional lifestyle as he explores the coastal area between Kawakawa Bay and Orere Point.
Enjoy the sun, beach and water sensibly. New Zealand is a great country and one of the few places where simple nudity is not a crime. Whether you just like a skinny dip, or getting a tan without those annoying tan lines.
Some of the pictures are taken during a naturist stay in the Kaimai Ranges in the last week of January every year.

Bedankt voor je reactie. Zelf woon ik ook al m'n hele leven in Westerhaar en in m'n jeugd heb ik hier veel gezwommen en gesurfd. Sinds een paar jaar is "Franke" min of meer m'n achtertuin :-)

View from a path carved out by the waves. A dead tree trunk provides a path 'over the top' between tides. At low tide you can slide passed/under it. It leads around the rock on the right of the photo and following the rocks on the right, you can proceed around the corner towards Taiwawe Beach.

Orere point 'just' around the corner. The rocky coast can be dangerous. Be prepared to swim or at least get wet if you go too close to high tide. Not recommended with strong easterlies blowing. There are various places on the way for a quiet (skinny) dip. Or just take your time and sit down to take in the view and let the weekly stress flow out of your body.

View of the conical Rangitoto volcano. The rocky coastline to the left on the photo makes it clear that good shoes and a reasonable level of fitness are a must for the walk from Tawhitokino beach to Waiwawe beach, but it is worth the workout.

When you emerge from this cave you see an important part of Taiwawe Beach. Often the only human feature you see is the house on top of the ridge, but on most parts of the beach, this is not visible either and it is as close as you can get to paradise. Just don't take an apple for lunch.

Based on the features in the photo it appears that this is Taiwawe beach, which is between Tawhitokino beach/park and Orere Point. It is accessible from Tawhitokino Beach along the coast, as I did today. Keep a good eye on the tide and the weather. Some of the pictures I posted on Google Earth show a few parts of the coastline. From Orere Point access along the coast or a path that follows the paddocks behind the bush.

Photo taken in 2010 during my first naturist stay at Ngatuhoa lodge. This is a yearly event with opportunities to go on several walks, like the one to the Te Rere I Oturu falls. They are about 40m high and 25m wide. In this picture the river flow is quite low.

This photo was taken exactly at the time a potential tsunami, caused by an earthquake in Chile, would hit the New Zealand shores. No difference was observed from this point high above the beach.
