The photo of "Terraces houses" is a photo of "The Marines". My daughters lived there for years originally on the first floor and then the ground floor and the first floor - lived there for about 8 years in the late 90's up to 2006/7. Magnificent old building

A few years back our trip up from Lynhurst to Innaminka gave us some great camping spots in our Camper (ZOE 89) We went on through Cordilla Downs to Birdsville, which was a great place to see. Down the Birdsville Track and up the Oodnadatta Track and to the Highway.
All this area we thoroughly enjoyed .. and there were so many lovely and interesting spots to camp.
Somewhat after the fact, I stumbled across this page having been using Google Earth to find the Ochre Cliffs.
Reason? I saw the total eclipse there in Dec 2002. I can tell you that the picture here is definitely enhanced.
I have a number of photos of the walls, the floor of the cliffs, and some close-ups; the two hours or so before the eclipse I spent investigating it, but keeping of the cliffs as they are sacred territory. A truly extraordinary place. How very smart the Aborigine to thrive in the Outback.
