For an area that doesn't get that much rain, Flett, it sure can dammed damp at time!!!
Looks like something like 8 to 10" of water across the road here, so I'd reckon the Moralanna Scenic Route would be at least half closed, unless you had a jetboat... (the next turn right, that leads back to the Wilpena Rd, via some Dry creek beds...)
Was this flooding Sorry, slight dampness *in 2007, *Flett? Seems that the drought broke in most parts of SA & NT earlier this year. My son drove from Adelaide to Darwin without seeing a single 'roo - green feed everwhere he said!
Cheers, PeterB :-)

It sure did not look like this in 1984, Flett when we passed through. Only a few year before the Cooper had left mud on the floor when it flooded. That sure makes a lot of water, as that building is quite a long way above the level of the ford!
First, it's no longer a Hilton, it's a DoubleTree. Also, this building is 2500, not the spot indicated further north of here. How do I know? I just moved my office here.
I think you missed out the 'C' in Coober Pedy.
Have a good one, Mate!
I have been admiring your photos.
Im planning to do a trip through the outback with my two children.
I have never ventured out there before and I was wondering whether you have a email address that I can converse with you and pick your brains about your experience.
Great Shot, well done - Voted

Really a good Hotel: cheap rooms and good cold beer
