Nikonista
Third-age amateur photographer and landscape painter based in the north west of England. I have really started to notice birds and nature in detaill for the first time and I am excited and pleased by my pictures of even the most prosaic examples of wildlife. When I look at some of the amazing images on Panoramio, I realise how much I have to learn and how far I have to go. As they say, "Enjoy the Journey."

Thank you indeed Nick
Our birds are very shy and this one would have been 'off' had he/she not seen a large fish fooling around in the shallows. As we approached, the bird looked at us, then the fish and then at us again. We saw it computing the risks and the potential reward and it made its mind up to ignore us in favor of lunch.
Good call!
Best wishes from a white and cold North Carolina - Jethro
