Jeff I like to think of the British robin as _ precocious_ :o)

The American Robin is not related at all and only gets its name because of its red breast. But they seem to like worms just as much as the European variety. They work in small flocks, perhaps half a dozen and up and they skitter out of your way as you approach.

Their song is wonderful. A poignant reminder of the beauty of the wood thrush still to arrive from its wintering place.

Enjoy - David

We passed through Bakewell a couple of weeks ago Jeff, nice place for a walk along the river eating fish and chips..Like..Regards Richard

Thanks Neil.
I have always been a fan of B&W but it has gone on the back burner in this digital age. It was only when I was looking through a recently discovered box of my own photos from the seventies (Olympus OM2)that I realised I probably couldn't do prints of this quality any more.
So my challenge was on. I know it certainly can be done because I've seen some at a gallery.
I may put up some on Pano, but not a lot as it is very much a niche market which most people don't share.

Cheers from Cheshire
Jeff

Hi there Steve, many thanks,i'm pleased you like them and thanks for calling in.

Best wishes to you too...Neil.

I know Si. One of the cottages we have stayed in quite recently has actually been demolished due to the subsidence, in order to protect the properties below!

Regards Jeff

Thank you Patty - my Santa imitations are over for another year!

Thank you AJ30 in fact ........ "Its taken at the bottom of a clay like sculpture maybe 20 feet tall. Make you feel like you're inside an old hollowed out tree (that's split) or a mud dauber's nest."

Best wishes and a happy new year from North Carolina - Jethro
