My dad and I used to drop off cans of cream at this depot to be shipped by rail to a place called Sunset Valley Creamery.
This must be the bridge to Kaskaskia Island which was once the capitol of Illnois.
The bill for me being born there plus a few days stay in the hospital was about $60. About a weeks pay for the average working person. That included the Dr's bill too.
I'd like to see inside this building before it's torn down. I was never in it again after having been born there.
If old homes could talk, I would listen.
This is a beautiful picture but this bridge is over Village Creek. Saline Creek runs through Fredericktown and empties into the Little St Francis River just south of where Village Creek empties into the Little St. Francis River. Village Creek crosses 00 highway and does not run through Fredericktown.
