On Paridis Dune just south of Nida, and within sight of the Russian part of the Curoniam Strip - the border is just 2km further south. The top of the obelisk was blown down by a hurricane in 1997 and had to be replaced (note the colour change!), The stabilised sand dune is 42m asl.
