One of the many picturesque beaches and coves in this area.
The home of the Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway, Cornwall's Premier steam railway. The trip from Bodmin General to Bodmin Parkway in the Glynn Valley and Boscarne Junction in the Camel Valley is a 13 mile return journey.
This is recognised as probably the finest Military Museum in the South West of England and is situated at "The Keep" in Bodmin, a GradeII listed building. Constructed at the time of the Napoleonic threats the museum tells the story of the County Regiment from 1702 until the present day. Well worth a visit and why not take in the nearby Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway too!!!
This aircraft is unique as she is the only "warbird" flying today who was a world record breaker! She was built in 1954 in Woodford Cheshire and in 1957 she attained an altitude of 70,310 feet acquiring the world altitude record for GB! This is because she became a test airframe for the new Double Scorpion rocket motor which was fitted in the bomb bay and this rocket motor gave the aircraft tremendous climb speed and the ability to fly at high altitude! It made its airshow debut in 1997 operating initially from Bruntingthorpe and Duxford and later had a period at RAF Wyton before being acquired by the Classic Fleet in 2000. She is now painted up to represent an aircraft of 617 Squadron.
This airport situated half a mile outside the City boundary in the village of Baginton. There for the Classic Air Force Air Show on 2.5.15, featuring all the old planes, the Meteor, Vampire, Venom et al!
