Bedford's Corn Exchange.
The Swan hotel.
Looking down the Great Ouse and the Embankment from the town bridge with the Swan hotel on the left.
A view of the town bridge where John Bunyan was once imprisoned with St.Paul's Church in the background and the Swan hotel on the right.
Bedford's River Great Ouse with the Swan hotel on the far embankment.
This (excellent) photograph is actually the University of Cambridge's Pitt Building (formerly housing Cambridge University Press), and not Emmanuel United Reformed Church. It is rather church-like, but it isn't actually a church. Emmanuel United Reformed Church is slightly further south along Trumpington Street.
I wonder if there's any chance of changing the title of this photograph please? It seems to be automatically appearing in Google Maps, which is rather misleading! :-)
Thank you again .. Herb'.... The hotel runs a.. ''Golf buggy'' ..type taxi to the town and back...we normally used the steps for the exercise.. but the buggy was always a riot of a social event providing laughs and chats to others as we hurtled along...... Thanks for your YSL ... Cheers from Dave.
Woohoo !..... a top scoop there ... Geoff.
Dave if you look at the neighbours conifers on the right Doos destroyed half of them on a previous visit this year when his barbecue got out of control! Brother Dave stood at the top of the steps near that window and filmed it!!! Luckily the neighbour was in the UK but Doos has got to replace them!!!
Aaaah !.... good old...'San Miguel'.... I've supped plenty of that !!
