G Lokey's conversations

Mevagissey is a village, fishing port and civil parish in Cornwall where we visited three years ago. It was nice to see the two swans still residing in the harbour and we ate at the Sharksfin restaurant on the quay. You just can't beat fish and chips at these places, fresh out of the ocean! That's the fish not the chips! lol.

A view of Marazion's town hall.

Another view of the superb gardens on the Mount.

While we were on The Mount this chap was taking aerial photos of the castle for a magazine and he used this drone for the purpose. Fascinating! It has just arrived back to its handler safely!

This is a Type 24 pillbox situated on the western side of the castle. It is concrete-block constructed and as there are no current threats from the Krauts now the gardeners use it for storage!!!

Another view of this castle.

A view of the impressive gardens from the castle.

A view of the town from the castle,

Known locally as "The Mount" this is a small tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. The island is a civil parish and is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway. The castle and chapel have been home to the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. The earliest buildings on the summit date back to the 12th century and the harbour is 15th century. Depending on the tides you can get there via the causeway or by boat if the tide is in. We sailed out and walked back!!!
