I learned about this in some odd place. I love seeing stuff like this, no I had to go find it.
Fine image of Western sword ferns, Polystichum munitum, besides the small creek.
Found your photos by looking for right geoposition of Jami Dwyer's photo of this fern at Commons Wikimedia.
All right, have spotted Scott's earlier comment, yet the location had already been corrected here.
This was taken while I was exploring the old road grade up on the hill east of the falls, the abandoned continuation of the BPA road up there. So hitting the falls wasn't my main goal that day and I don't think I knew much about it yet. I still haven't trekked into the falls yet, on my to do list once I get caught up a bit with the Highway project a bit.
Dana...fun once again. I was at McKee here just this past April. Nice spot...and we were told about huge panels of hidden glyphs over in the next canyon. Twas fun finding some hidden stuffs!
This boxcar isn't there anymore. The authorities removed it for "safety" reasons.
I placed this photo here for history and perspective's sake.
This is Mikal's photo, not mine. I placed it here on Panoramio just for history and perspective's sake. Mikal, if you object, please let me know. Cheers, scott
Excellently seen and taken! YSL for this photo.
Are these logged trees waiting for a long lasting torrential rain to flush them down to the (I guess) Columbia River?
Best wishes from Germany
Thanks! But...Panther Creek Falls is here: 45.867453° -121.828359°
