I just came across this site quite by accident and I was completely shocked that you were born in the same place as my Mother! My Mother was born, according to her was listed in all of her documents as "Sablon b/Metz, Alsace-Lorraine". She was born in the year 1907. I am trying to trace back to my Mother's Father and her Mother, but all I have is their names and nothing else. I've been assuming that my Mother's parents lived where my Mother was born, but so far I don't know of an "archive" that I can go to that covers Metz, Sablon France! Can you advise me of a governmental agency that I can contact in the town that you and my Mother were born in that would have all of the births and deaths records that I could research? Any help or guidance that you could give me would be sincerely appreciated. I'm trying to finish MY family history (on my Mother's side)for My family tree that I want to give to my family!
