This was the Andrássy family's residence in Trebišov (formerly known as Tőketerebes in Hungarian). Count Gyula Andrassy, the Kingdom of Hungary's last foreign minister, was born and raised here. The town, along with all of Northern Hungary was transferred to the newly created Czechoslovakia after World War I at the Treaty of Trianon in which Hungary lost 2/3 of her territory and 1/3 of her Hungarian population without plebiscite.
