Yes. The good Captain Peter, whose photos are among the many here I have to work off backlog! There are lots of lizard heads on that building! The encircle it! Each seems slightly different so lots of work went into them.
Keeping a floating steel hull sound is an expensive thing. Even the largely fresh Anacostia has enough effect to waste a hull over decades without maintenance. There was a Navy ship, a rather famous one, in South Carolina that became Swiss cheese underwater and was dangerous. The Japanese preserved the old battleship Mikasa by "floating" it in concrete. I remember looking over the side thinking the view quite odd.
Beautiful captures of amazing architecture, Poly!!! I love this building. Like
Best wishes, Leo
Beautiful captures of Oak Alley, Poly! This is only 25 miles from my hometown, Thibodaux. I hope you enjoyed your visit to the area where I grew up.
Best wishes, Leo
The old Gun Factory buildings are pretty much there, now almost unrecognizable unless one knows them before—which I did decades ago. They now largely house restaurants.
Seems to be! A "different" building along the main street.
This was my first time at the pond and I was wondering the same. Other photos here also show the dry, cracked bottom at other times. There is a small connection to the canal here but certainly not enough for tidal flushing of the pond. The few birds I saw out there looked pretty pitiful foraging in the little water there. Regionally we are not in a particularly dry year so it is puzzling.
A very nice one too (L+F)! Greetings from Peru
