Several years ago this statue (or the original if this is a copy) was located at the other end of the city centre in Holloway Circus. One night it disappeared - it had been stolen. For many years nothing was heard of it, now I'm glad to see that it has reappeared near Aston University.

I learned to snorkel here in the summer of 1973, and clearly remember the narrow strip of water between the beach and the rocks.
The extensive kelp in the bay in the foreground freaked me out in 1973 and it still does!
