I am an English teacher and writer from West Virginia. Photography is one of my loves, although I have no intention of doing it professionally. I have a loving wife and two amazing daughters who change my life every day.

WolfDreamer1112's conversations

I remember the Winebrenners. We also had a camp on the other side on land. My parents were Howard "Mopey" Cole, Jr. and Betty Cole. Ours was about dead center. As I remember the Winebrenners camp was one of the last camps toward the hydro.

This is a picture of the lone tree or pine tree siphon. The largest siphon on the la aqueduct is the jawbone Siphon that is just a few miles to the north. The lone tree siphon comes in second place in terms of vertical drop and then vertical accent. The two siphons allow the water to flow without the use of any pumps. From start to finish the la aqueduct flows approx. 14 mph using only gravity. Pretty cool stuff. All of the pipe used had to be hauled in and placed by mule power. Much of the digging and tunneling in this area was done by Chinese labors

This is a great shot!
