My best friend visits New Hampshire every year for his holidays; says it's lovely. He and his wife are now in good jobs, but he says if he'd known about NH years ago he'd have emigrated like a shot. I now live in Usk, in South Wales, but my heart too is in the Highlands. I was brought up in London, but my mother was from Isle of Skye and we had a holiday home in Tighnabruaich since I was two. I relocated to Scotland - Edinburgh, Tighnabruaich then Greenock - over thirty years ago. Last year I married my first girlfriend (We'd separated 34 years previously!); as she has three grown-up daughters in Wales it seemed sensible to settle down here. The weather's much, MUCH better too. Ian

Hi Don! I'm coming to Vancouver and the Yukon next year, following in the footsteps of the poet Robert W Service. I was looking for photos of the area, and was surprised to see on your site a picture of San Giovanni Rotondo. I was there a couple of years ago; went all over the south of Italy. I comment because San Giovanni isn't really on the tourist route so it's unusual on Panoramio. Cheers! Ian

Haunting and beautiful. It must have been quite a storm if it came ashore! Thank you.

Hi Michael! I'm pleased you've been viewing my photos. You suggested a revised position for a photo taken at Herculaneum. While I would have bowed to an accurate position within the excavation, the position you suggested was not actually at the excavation. Ian

I thought I'd done well with 17,000 views of one of my Grand canyon photos. But 44,000! I live in Wales, UK. I'll send this pic to my neighbours; let them see what the other Wales is like. Ian
