The mosaic is a replica of a famous mosaic in Pompeii and was a gift from Naples, Italy. The only change from the original is the inclusion of "Imagine" in the center of the mosaic. This is one of my best photographs...someone had left this rose and it was starting to wither...it was 3 months after 9/11.
I have traced my ancestors back to this hall in 1656...they were living in the grounds and may have had a part in the construction. My surname is PEARSON and we are indeed in the documents housed in the archives...ancestor JOHN PEARSON
