Dank je Bram, door meerdere foto's achter elkaar te schieten kreeg ik dit er op. Groeten Berend

Я здесь впервые только в прошлом году побывал... Класс! L+

My goodness, Nick, I'd totally forgotten about this one, and maybe I ought to review 'interesting' photos again. This in the contender list but isn't the one.

Many thanks for adding an Yves though kind sir. ;-)

Yes indeed you do. This is one of the smaller ones - some of the nakamals are quite large. Thanks for your visit and comments.

Thank you Luis. Vila has a large and busy market. I am sure you love to explore the markets in Dili too. Has the main market been fully restored?

Thank you, once again, Luis. The Chinese Government is certainly building its influence in many of the small nations of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

Greetings Berend. Thanks for even stopping to lolok at this photo, and thanks for your comment. I stayed in a guest house right next door (from which this photo was taken), and though there was not an opportunity to visit this prison I knew of some inmates. In our peacebuilding work we have had to consider and support some of the combatants from the civil war who have served prison sentences, and on their release are further isolated from society. For most of them reconciliation is very difficult indeed.

I was returning to Honiara from Auki, Malaita via Tulagi. From the upper deck of the inter-island ferry I had this good view of Savo Island, one which interests me because of its role in the Second World War. One of the Prime Ministers of Solomon Islands came from Savo.

Greetings, Berend.

So schön, Like, Grüsse, Ágnes

Merci beaucoup, Patrick.

Amitiés, Ian
