It is wonderful that this special feature of our landscape has been revisited, by you with your team of climbers Cris. It is a change from climbing Tibrogargan and other peaks.
Last section of Yabba Falls: Bottom Pool, Super Rocks on Owen Cascades, then the first of the Corner Pools
Love it, Cris. Great view of Gate of Heaven. It is always so misleading for one doesn't expect the next descent on the other side of the Gate.
That is a great view of Top Pool, Cris!
I am sure glad you have returned and had a challenging climbout.
Favorite and Like!!!!
I didn't had a swim Ian, but I've ran 10 km and a part of it was at the boardwalk along this swimming pool. And yes it was warm ;-)) Greetings Berend
It is a lovely valley, albeit a small one. The red building in the foreground is the tractor shed on this grazing property. Grazing of beef cattle is the main economic activity of this valley, although behind me is a large state forest, this photo being taken from the firebreak boundary. There is also a hoop pine plantation on the lower slopes of Mt Moorooreerai and the 3 bumps of cleared slope (left of centre background) are where hoop pine forest has been harvested quite recently and the slopes are now replanted with hoop pine seedlings.
Greetings, Berend from Oz.
Thank you, Berend. I have been here many times before, but this is the first time I have been here at the end of the day. It was nice to use the late afternoon light to photograph this pool. This is usually where we start in the mornings, if we are going to descend/abseil into the gorge.
I remember being here in the early 1960s, and then there was a corrugated iron tank left here by the floods. Evidently, it had been carried down from the township of Jimna, or from some forestry camp upstream, most likely by the big 1955 flood. As the various pools have no name, I simply refer to this pool as the 'tank pool' for my own navigational purposes or bearings.
