The island is volcanic, and the two main craters are very evident on the Google Earth image. It is a privilege to visit and explore and then through Panoramio to share the experience with you and the world, Berend.


This was almost as far as I was able to climb here, for the bush became rather dense and the rocks were rather large above this point. I was alone, with my camera, and when I returned I asked Margaret, "If I had got lost or fallen, where would you have guessed that I had gone?" Even she, with all her years of knowing me, couldn't begin to solve that riddle.

The short answer to your question is that she is looking for anything edible. Limpets, sea cucumbers, crabs and other crustaceans all can be added to the pot and the table.
