Thank you PONG. We have many kilometres of beautiful beaches, and this is a special one.

Kindest regards,

Ian

Another superb image, Erik. Your presentation of light and cloud is wonderful. Love the moods you have portrayed in your gallery. L

Greetings Berend.

This seems to me to be a classic photo of tropical North Queensland, with mountains and forests meeting the coral coast. The new home in the foreground is rather an impressive building. It is like a bunker (Able to withstand violent tropical cyclones) from this view, but from the other side it has an open view of the magnificent coastline.

Ian

This is the wettest part of Australia, Berend, so the clouds have to be an important part of the landscape. Thanks for your appreciative comment.

What a great view! So beautiful with the mist! A big like for it! Best regards, christian

Thanks Berend. I enjoyed exploring Cairns, for it is a very attractive modern city. I loved its parks and gardens, its galleries and shopping centres, its tropical setting and its surrounding mountainous areas. It must be about 40 years since I was there so I enjoyed seeing that the provincial town has become a modern small city.

Kind regards,

Ian

Greetings Berend. I have listed the populations at the last census of the largest significant urban areas of Queensland (above) , in which you will see that Cairns is our 5th largest city. The section seen in this photo is only the central area, for the city extends to Edmonton in the south and Palm Cove in the north, 35 km north-south axis.

I hope that you are able to revisit...soon.

Ian

I hope you do get to Cairns again!!!

I love this garden, Berend. I thought the Melaleucas and palms make a wonderful screnn camouflaging the old water reservoir on the one hand, while the reservoir makes a great backdrop to the garden.

There are three such tanks, now converted and used as art space and performance space.

Greetings from Oz.

Ian

Very different from Netherlands, eh! As you have seen this is a local landmark, Berend. Thanks for your appreciation.
