An equal stillness. So beautiful, Ian.
Warm wishes to Australia, Amelia
The small gulls are fairly common, Ian, but I've never seen the larger birds which I assume may be pelicans, and there may be an egret too. Lovely mud flats!
I love those grey reflections, Ian. It all looks so tranquil and unspoiled!
Thank you for your lovely description an praise, Rosa. It seems that swans are a feature of Berwick. We saw quite a few in the Tweed as we wandered over the bridges. Here they made the perfect foil for the pier.

Yes, Polytropos. As I studied this image, I thought that we are going to be seeing a lot more of the rocks, screes and moraines in the future. I have images and survey maps from the 1940s of the Aletsch Glacier and it is really alarming to compare them with current Google Earth images.
We spent 3 days here, in a very well appointed cabin. Though it was September, we were cosy because we kept the fire burning each night! This is located in the area where my wife lived her childhood, so it was a bit like going into the woods to discover her childhood treehouse.
