I was here exactly 8 days ago, Ian. It was a very misty view from the tower, but good enough to see 3 windmills - almost invisible in the distance. Quite a climb though! I was by myself, and found it difficult to open the top hatch. :)

I'm now going to check out your Sea Palling Holiday.

Thank you, Engelbert. The transit of Venus was the initial reason the English sent Captain James Cook to Tahiti in 1769-70. He subsequently encountered and explored the east coast of our continent in 1770. So for Australians the Transit of Venus has real historical interest as well as astronomical interest.
