I guess I was a bit better prepared, but age-wise I was 58 in 2003 when my daughter, my son and I made the trek. Actually, they were accompanying me on MY quest to reach Lake Tear of the Clouds, the source of the Hudson River. Suffice it to say that it should not be treated as a casual undertaking :-).

There is little traffic and (in good weather) miles of visibility. I just pulled onto the shoulder for a few moments and shot out the window--but I didn't tell you to do that. Be careful!

The satellite photos show a trail from 1880 town, if you're up for a short hike, I don't know whether It's accessible to the public or not. (Maybe if you pay admission or something.)

I wonder if anyone has been to this spot and realized that I flipped the photo horizontally. Thanks for the kind words everyone! Cant believe I have almost 100,000 views on this one. Hope I inspired some people to get outside and enjoy this great big world around us.

Thanks Patrick for checking out my pictures. I am jealous that you live in the Adirondacks! It's probably getting cold there now, but we even enjoyed the area in the winter. Quite peaceful. Best Regards & Merry Christmas. Chris
