I enjoy the shear wonders the world has to show. Small spectacles that are shown every day. From the rolling waves and surf to the rising sun and the first star light. Since childhood, I have always had a passion for photography and still enjoy Photographing the things that are often taken for granted. What is a Sunrise? A Sunrise is beginning of a Day. A Day is a fresh sheet of paper that we write the story of our lives. It is from this, we string them together and call it a lifetime. The Photograph is a moment frozen in time that conveys that feeling or tells the story that we are about to write. Each Photograph is that unique moment in time frozen that it will never come again. Photos are the best thing we have to a time portal, where others at a later date can peer into the past and see how it use to be or what life was like then compared to now. If we are Lucky and our Photos survive to another distant generation a part of our story that was written by us is conveyed to the viewer and our life once again goes on to be shared even after we have long finished writing our life's story. The photo that the viewer see's remains resident in there memory even though it has been put back in to that dusty photo book. That in witch is captured now is, preserved for the future to see, as the moment that once was.

Beautiful moody image.
Best wishes.

Nothing but sea and sun. It's enough for a masterpiece.

The Provision Company @ Holden, not to be confused with the Provision Company @ Southport is one of our favorite eateries. The other one is great too! ;) Great views of the intercoastal waterway and gorgeous sunsets to be had here. Live music, laidback atmosphere. Enjoy this favorite of the locals.

Duce459, magnificent place, time, and moment. Very nice shot and feeling. Like and Favorite. Thank you my friend and welcome to my group Beauty In The Eye Of Nature. Hoping to see alot of you and your moments in time.. Warm regards from New York. Peace, Mike

Phenomenal Photo!

This was not a Southern Railway tunnel. It was Norfolk Western's tunnel to it's main Station downtown. The tunnel was closed when NW merged with Southern. There is actually an active tunnel on the old Southern line under Rivermont Ave.

Awesome photo, Daan! I was in Pemba in 1995. Stayed at Praia do Vimbi just outside Pemba, where we met a man, Koos Landsberg, who was co-owner of an island on the western side of Pemba Bay.

He took us to the island in his rubber duck (leaking all the way.....) where we spent a few days. It was a wOw experience!

After our holiday he came to visit us a few times at my house in Pretoria - in his red Unimog - whenever he had business in SA.

Unfortunately we lost contact in 1999, because he never had a cellphone, and we moved to another house.

Now the reason for all this, is to find out if your path hasn't perhaps crossed with him. In those days he was sort of an icon under the locals in Vimbi and Pemba, because he was regarded as a healer. He looked like one too - beard, long walking stick and roman-sandals.

On the other hand, he could be anywhere in Moz by now - who knows? He also has a brother in Tzaneen, but I can't remember his nane.

If you haven't met him, can I ask you or your friends to please look out for him whenever you go to Moz again?

I would appreciate it very much if you could give me some feedback per email:

Thanks Mike , the sunrise holds for me the promise of a new day. The hope of the renewing of life. Recharged, fresh and young. It's the symbol of the youth inside of us all.
