This is not Herdsman Lake. Looks like Swan Valley vineyard near Guildford

This iconic view of the Perth CBD's Esplanade and Alf Curlewis Garden is sadly no more. It has been dug up to accomodate a riverfront development of Offices, apartments, and a token river inlet with pedestrian plazas and cafes.

All this against the will of the people of Perth, whose land it was, and all for the developers, State Government and Perth City Council.

You are right, thanks.

This is a nice plane. I used to hire it from Murray Bridge and fly into the desert for field work. Ownership changed and it was no longer available.

Lately there is more evidence of the ditching at Gardner which just so happens to be along the same NW-SE sun line as Howland Island which reportedly was the fix being used by Amelia Erhardt's navigator. Unfortunately, they were not well versed in radio aid navigation so beacon signals from the US Navy at Howland Island were lost on them. All Erhardt could do during this leg of their trek was to transmit. (I, too, am a retired USAF navigator).

This photo is so misplaced it's funny!

Hi Muzza, shooda known you'd have a pic of this place. I was Monash Student '71-'73 and spent plenty of time in the "Uni Bar", must have been a goldmine.

Kath Byers died in 2010. I only met here once. http://www.theage.com.au/entertainment/restaurants-and-bars/raising-a-cheering-glass-to-legendary-publican-20101117-17xog.html

I wonder if Ron Robertson-Swann is aware of this look-a-like effort.

Hi Berzer, this photo may be Podrinie 4, but the location is wrong. P4 is at 27deg 33 43s, 140deg 39 56e. The spot you have picked is not a wellsite. looks like a turkey nest with maybe a farmbore to supply.

We had brunch at a (packed) Cafe Eden in Maling Street in Jan'12. Beautifully preserved piece of suburban Melbourne, but ironically the cafe is in a new bit at the end of the strip that looks awful
