Goldwinger's conversations

I can't edit my comments so I will add this post I stated it was 1970, I meant 1980.

Street of Bayeux, not Le Havre !

I was stationed at Alconbury from 1975 - 1977 and of my 14 assignments this was one of my most enjoyable. I grew as a professional and became a better equipment operator since I was one of two assigned to the CE squadron. I was selected as NCO of the quarter several times. I most enjoyed our little Baptist church located in an old pub in Little Stukely. The Corby Commandoes and Huntingdon Hookers were alive and performing as advertised. My first weekend on the base I found two of these ladies come into my shower from one of my airmen friends room ... which was strictly forbidden. I had a heart to heart talk with Pat Farilleo that Sunday morning. My years there found us having extreme temperatures during the summer of 1976 - over 100 degree F. days. I saw the activation of the Agressor squadron and enjoyed a close relationship with the pilots and maintenance crews. We saw our Spartans beat Mildenhall and the Bitburg Barons in football ... what a year for football. I also learned to fence while in Huntingdon and enjoyed the sport so much. Suffice it to say I have very fond memories of Alconbuery and the wonderful British people. Signed CMSgt Mike Ezell retired 2003.

Hello John, This is Debbie, Krista's mom. I am so pleased that my daughter found you via the internet. This house has somewhat evolved over the 15+ years we've been here. One of the first things we did upon arrival after closing was remove the short wall between the kitchen and livingroom. By doing this, the space is huge visually. We gutted the kitchen and bath to update, had the beautiful red pine floors redone and added Armstrong white wood-grained planks to the ceilings in the kitchen, livingroom, hall and master bedroom. Over the years, we have changed most of the windows, replaced the old furnace and the oil tank was removed and a new one placed outside the south side of the house to feed in to the furnace and hot water heater. We actually have a finished basement with livingroom, an area for our pool table, a second bath and fourth bedroom (as my mother-in-law lived with us for a while). The upstairs livingroom is now a formal dining room. This works well for us. Did I happen to mention we put in a spiral staircase to access the lower level without having to go outside and around back? I have gone on a bit, haven't I? It's only because we are very proud of this little house and have spent many happy years here. We look forward to meeting you and additional members of your family.
