Unfortunately this wetland which is in possession of Indian railways will lose its pristine beauty soon as the railway administration has decided to cut some 7,50,000 tree, green jungle around it to construct a thermal power plant.
Actually, the size of the roads is very ample, and an as a minute observer, the traffic jams have more to do with the mindset of drivers, who knowingly or unknowingly, drive in a manner that creates traffic jams, where there is no need for one. Really, drivers in Shillong need to be trained in a proper manner on optimum utilisation of space while driving and how to avoid creating jams. The traffic police have their hands full dealing not with the cars, but the mindset of drivers.

This is Mount Kabur, part of Kanchenjungha range but not the actual Kachenjungha peak. It looks like sleeping lord Shiva.
